Instructional Designers use different concepts that help them create successful learning experiences for their clients. The following are concepts that help define problems and support viable outcomes
Design Document
Instructional Designers are responsible for creating the experience that a learner encounters in various situations. Being that all experiences are learning experiences, Instructional Designers truly have their work cut out for them. Before the work begins, the ID creates a design document. The design document allows for all of the needs to be assessed and the desired outcomes to be recognized. This document also provides a framework that builds bridges to possible solutions.

Performance Support Tool Alignment Table
Performance Support Tools are tools that help the user or client have more successful outcomes. Tools such as a Quick Reference Guide and Infographics help users access information in a more efficient fashion. The document below shows how performance support tools were used to improve the webpage for Winthrop University's International Center.
